It hurts on lonely nights when bright clouds loom above this part of our world. One insignificant part of the entirety of civilization whispering wishes to the wind. The crisp chill of April's eve is a welcome change. Yet I cannot remember for the life of me the reasons why I said I must leave. It all seems so long ago, though still I hold my heart out on my sleeve. Its flames newly doused by realization of the greater scheme; life has its plans for me, though I cannot pretend to see. Raised are the voices. It's a crescendo; a declaration of war. Gun shots and then pain. A hole in the chest, right through the heart and all time comes down to the suspension between life and death. The surroundings blur into a mess of dull colors, sounds fade into muffled nonsense. A torrential downpour mingles itself with the crimson river flowing into a valley of death. Life is at arm's length, spread out below the sapphire sky. Limbo is silent and devoid of feeling. A moment of respite before the mouths of revival shock the heart back to life.
